Emotions Recognized in Vocalization

Besides speech, people express emotion using rich nonverbal vocalizations—also known as vocal bursts. These include laughs, screams, sighs, and a lot more. We discovered that vocal bursts convey 24 different kinds of emotion. (Cowen et al., 2018, Am Psych)
